Soy and the New Dietary Guidelines- (The Soy Connection) For the first time in a decade, the new Dietary Guidelines address the role of animal and plant protein in health outcomes. Protein foods from plant sources, including soy, contribute to the advised nutrient dense total dietary pattern that can help maintain calorie balance while meeting many of the other recommendations and nutrient requirements.
