Venous Thromboembolism in Children and Adolescents- Describe the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and risk factors for venous thromboembolism (VTE) in children and adolescents. Identify pediatric pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of heparin, low molecular weight heparins, and warfarin. Evaluate current guidelines and evidence for the prophylaxis and treatment of VTE in children and adolescents. Describe the practical implications and options for outpatient VTE therapy in children and adolescents.
