Optimizing VTE Prophylaxis in Surgical Patients: A Case Study- Compare risk assessment strategies for the prevention of VTE. Describe the optimal approach for ordering VTE prophylaxis. Devise an appropriate thromboprophylaxis strategy for a surgical patient. Apply evidence-based guidelines for regional anesthesia (i.e., epidural or spinal anesthesia) in patients prescribed anticoagulation for VTE prevention. Recognize and apply techniques for improving the quality of VTE prophylaxis.
