Transforming Good Care Into Best Practices: A Focus on VTE Prophylaxis in the Medically Ill Population- Devise methods to measure an institution's effectiveness at delivering appropriate VTE prophylaxis to medically ill patients. Determine the appropriateness of a prescribed VTE prophylaxis regimen in a specific patient case. Analyze a risk-assessment strategy for the prevention of VTE in hospitalized patients. Identify gaps in care when suboptimal VTE prophylaxis is given and recommend strategies to close those gaps.
